Curiouser and Curiouser

In the tradition of the Mad Hatter’s tea party, ask Alice, or rather ask Janice to welcome you to her tea party where it’s always tea-time and life becomes curiouser and curiouser — how comforting, how completely mad! This work was included in an Alice in Wonderland surrealist game with La Sirena whose members reside in England, Scotland, Germany and the United States. Each artist participating in the game made postcards that were given out at the 2025 International Society for the Study of Surrealism held in Bogota Columbia. And oh! What a game it was as it unfolded like a flower that only blooms in upside-down weather, a marvel stitched with thoughts, and a generous hint of mayhem.

Seven photographs were combined including an Asian teapot photographed at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk VA, a rock formation from the Natural History Museum in Washington DC, leaves from Kew Gardens in London, underwater from the Chattanooga, hand-made bubbles and two photographs of Janice’s eyes and hands.
